Bon bini dear guests of Casa Makoshi Bonaire
We are Remko and Sharon and since May 2022 the proud owners of Casa Makoshi. Our introduction to this island is very different. Remko has been coming to the island for about 25 years and fell in love immediately. Since the purchase of the house, Sharon has been introduced to Bonaire. In the past 15 years of being a couple, we have found that we love a challenge together and are always on the same page when it comes to taste. Together and separately we have taken on various challenges and have now formed a beautiful family together with our sweet, beautiful daughter and son. Everything in its time... Together we stand in life, share and grant each other dreams and want to enjoy! and now that good time has arrived when we seized the opportunity that presented itself and Remko can share his passion for Bonaire with his family.
With Remko the island has got under his skin and he feels at home as soon as the plane door at Flamingo Airport opens and he can already smell the island. He comes back every year to make the most beautiful dives and to enjoy the oh so beautiful underwater world. The great thing about diving on Bonaire is that you can freely dive without a guide with your buddy, at about 80 dive sites that you can approach from the shore. You grab your bottles, drive to the swim, enter the water and after a bit of snorkeling you'll be hanging over a beautiful reef before you know it. In recent years, kitesurfing has also attracted his attention (after all, you are never too old to learn something). Bonaire is like nothing else. Especially the easy and independent diving from the shore, and the enormous diversity of dive sites makes it a real "Diver Paradise" as can be read on every license plate. But along the way you will appreciate so many other things about this island as well. The simplicity, the nature, the friendly people and of course the climate. Lovely wind, clouds, sun, around 30 degrees and yet not hot.
Bonaire is not big, everything is within reach and the "vibe" of the island is one that suits us very well and cannot be compared to the other Caribbean islands. take Sorobon beach for example, and in particular Jibe-City our favorite hangout at the natural lagoon where you can walk hundreds of meters in the warm water before hitting the waves and otherwise enjoy the whole day on a no frills beach that you can chill on your free bed, including service for your wet and dry. But also Kralendijk with its wonderful restaurants, the boulevard, the kite beach, or the wild east coast, there is something for everyone. The longer and more often we get there, the harder it is to tell exactly why we've come to care so much about the island. Of course the memories of all those beautiful holidays also play a role, and good friends of ours even live on the island.
We hope you will enjoy yourself at Casa Makoshi and wish you a wonderful holiday! Recommendations are very welcome so that we can take this into account in the improvement of our Casa Makoshi. But also nice experiences, experiences, tips, visits, we like to read back from you and how nice is it if other guests who arrive after you can also enjoy this? Have fun in our Casa, and on the island.
On Bonaire they say...... Once a visitor always a friend.
Sunny regards, Sharon & Remko
